Name WILSON, John F. Birth 1863 Pennsylvania, United States Gender Male Biography - JOHN F. WILSON, the well known photographer of Milton, where since 1903 he has been located in the J. R. Smith building, is a native of Lycoming county, Pa., bom in October, 1863, son of Ellis B. Wilson and grandson of Joseph Wilson.
He attended the public schools of Montoursville, and made his home with J. C. Bryan until he was nineteen years of age, at which he time he went to Williamsport, Pa., there attending the Williamsport Commercial College, from which he graduated in 1886. His school days over, he took up photography, for which he had always had a liking, and for a short time was located in Muncy; for several years he was at different places. In 1899 he came to Milton, and was first located on Lincoln street, on Dec. 1, 1903, opening his present studio in the J. R. Smith building, where he has since done a thriving business. He is a man of naturally artistic tastes, and his poses have none of the stiffness which mars so many photographs.
Mr. Wilson married Fannie Heddens, daughter of James and Fanny Heddens, of Washingtonville, Montour county, and they have a comfortable home at No. 57 Bound avenue, Milton. Mr. Wilson is a member of the I. O. O. F. and of the State Photographers’ Association. His religious connection is with the Methodist Church. He has won many friends since he came to reside in Milton, and the prosperity that has attended his efforts here has been well deserved.
