Milton Manufacturing Company - Shell Plant

Milton Manufacturing Company Shell Plant 1919

This picture was taken looking east. The shell plant was built during WWI and produced 4.7 and 6 inch artillery shells for the war. The office building on the left end faces Cameron Avenue, just east of Cherry Street. The Reading Railroad track runs diagonally and crosses the river out of the picture to the left. On the left is the 5th Ward Hose Company facing Cherry Street. Above that is the main plant of the Milton Manufacturing Company.
